My dad fell three weeks ago, and he had to stay at the hospital for TWO days because there were only TWO MRI machines. The wait was so long for him to get the MRI (to make sure he didn't have a stroke) that they kept him for two nights. But he LOVED the food and the TV in his room.
After a hospital stay, I find satisfaction in taking/keeping as much "free" stuff as possible (i.e. tote bag, underwear, toothbrush, mouthwash, socks, giant menstrual pads.)
Recently, I got a bill for him from the hospital for $1,676. Every awful thing that happens health-wise comes with this kind of financial hit. My dad didn't want to fall again because of his bad balance due to his deteriorating health, but, when these things happen, our healthcare system punishes us for it.
